Popular attraction. 3rd street promenade is closed to cars, so it is meant for pedestrians only. Lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes, movie theater, street performers. Well worth the visit.

3rd street promenade is a tourist attraction with street performers a long street of shopping and a small outdoor mall with a Bloomingdales and Nordstrom and other stores... a few good food and drink spots nearby too

Just east of the Pier, the Third Street Promenade consists of three open-air, car-free blocks that are anchored by upscale mall Santa Monica Place. Good place to start or end your beach day
