One of the best spots in Capitol Hill/Barracks row. It's a creative "New American" spot. It's low key but an adventure every time you eat. The pork and lychee salad is amazing - sounds strange, but it's amazing. Make reservations on Tock.

Michelin Star restaurant with inventive, unique, and flavorful dishes. Bon Apetit magazine named it the best new restaurant in the United States when it opened in 2014! Perfect for a date night.

This is an American eclectic and modern American restaurant known for its top notch hospitality and amazing food. Has a bar upstairs of the restaurant where you cab lay back and have some nice drinks. Has indoor and outdoor dining. Highly recommended. 9 minutes drive from house.

This is a Foodie’s “Must” -- Rose’s was named the 2014 Best Restaurant in America by Bon Appetit Magazine so that pretty much speaks for itself, and many will still tell you it is the best restaurant in DC. Problem with Rose’s is that you can’t make reservations for under 6 people and the line starts building around 3:30-4:00, depending on the day, so you might need to go camp out. If you have the time it is totally worth it because it is obviously quite good AND reasonably priced. The same people also put up a restaurant right next door called Pineapples and Pearls which has not one but TWO Michelin Stars.
