Iconic location by River Douro. Very touristic and some good restaurants but they will probably be too touristic and expensive

Down by the river, narrow streets open out onto a plaza framed by austerely grand, tiled town houses. From here you have fine views of the port-wine lodges as well as the Ponte D. Luis.
