Spend a relaxing visit listening to the waves lap on the beach while sitting on the deck taking in the mountains and wildlife. Home is on a large, wooded parcel with 200' of private beach. Experience healing and peace with the sound of gentle waves on Discovery Bay. Our cabin was built in 1939 by our grandfather who was an early businessman in Port Townsend. He wisely recognized for decades to come this would be a prized place of rest, enjoyed by 5 generations. Our two kayaks for beginners and new paddle board are available for rent. Explore the unbelievable beauty of the Olympic National Park just a few miles away featuring hiking to rainforests, glaciers, and mountain lakes.

McDonald Cove Cabin

Rustic cozy cabin. Open concept for easy entertaining with glorious views of the water. Main floor bedroom with Queen bed plus open loft with Queen bed. The cabin has one bathroom opposite the downstairs bedroom. Great outdoor living with two decks; front deck facing the waterfront. Use stairs to access the beach and boat house which houses two single kayaks, one double kayak, life jackets, and beach chairs for guest use. One exterior security camera, which monitors the driveway is present.

We use CDC guidelines as close as possible & leave 48+ hours between guests for your/our safety. Enjoy our secluded park like setting, comfy bed, sauna, homemade bread/jam, huge cedar trees, sitting areas, golf chipping, horseshoes (seasonal). Close to SEA via ferry ride from Bainbridge Is. (30 min. drive) or 10 min. to Kingston ferries (walk-on or car). Near beach, golf (White Horse GC) & miles of hiking/biking trails, close to shopping & restaurants. Good for couples/singles. Fall asleep while counting actual sheep and senenaded by frogs and wake to birdsong in the morning! Once tucked back into the woods, this newly improved 1920s cabin now enjoys a front-row seat to the grandeur of the Hood Canal thanks to a tidal creek that has washed away the sandy soil that once supported the departed trees. This property may prove challenging for individuals with mobility issues. **Pricing is discounted due to ongoing improvements. Surrounded by old growth Cedars - a peaceful oasis without the bustling sounds of the city! Stocked with the necessary amenities for relaxing getaways to business trips, including a full kitchen and coffee/tea bar. The Roost is a completely separate unit (no shared walls) located in the backyard of our 1906 farmhouse.

After spending a day exploring one of the nearby epic hiking trails, you'll be rewarded by a relaxing soak in the riverside hot tub or a board game with friends by the fire.
