1832 Historic Washington Bottom Farm Log Cabin

Welcome to our renovated 1832 Log Cabin on the grounds of the George William Washington and Sarah Wright Washington 19th century plantation. The cabin was the first structure built. Then came barns and slaves’ quarters (no longer standing). The dairy barn is now a woodworking shop and the bank barn was recently restored. The main house, built in 1835, is Greek Revival style. Today, our 300+acre is Certified Organic. We border the South Branch of the Potomac River. It’s ALMOST HEAVEN !

Atop the Blue Ridge close to Harper’s Ferry and Virginia wine country this airy retreat overlooks the idyllic Shenandoah. Our two-person soaking tub on a magnificent deck, huge firepit, gorgeous vintage interior, grand piano, and warm pine ceiling and floors, give you the perfect place to get away from city life for a bit. The Little Black Cabin is everything you've been dreaming about for your cozy mountain getaway! Take in sweeping views, curl up by the fireplace, or make s'mores at the fire pit. Whip up a gourmet meal in the small but well-appointed kitchen. Three dining areas offer options for dinner -- or a remote office, thanks to wifi. Sample nearby hiking, yoga, and farmers' market. We're a little rustic (no TV, AC, microwave, laundry or dishwasher) and a lot stylish!

You can also stay in and enjoy the mountain view without ever leaving the back porch.

This renovated, 130-year-old cabin is a peaceful retreat surrounded by the George Washington National Forest and five minutes from great hiking at Wolf Gap Recreation Area or Half Moon Trailhead. If hiking isn't your thing, don't worry, the views from the porch are incredible. We suggest grilling out on the wrap-around deck while you watch the deer graze their dinner. Then get a great night's sleep on super-comfortable beds.
