This snug, grass-roofed eco-cabin offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy a warm Irish welcome, mountain walks on the Beara Way or snorkelling through nearby reefs. Sample local cheeses, lamb, fish and seafood or stoke up the wood-burning stove, have a glass of wine and and savour the peace and tranquillity! Word of warning: we are VERY remote, (1km off the road down a rough track). With almost no public transport, own transport (eg car) is highly recommended - see Getting Around!

The Boatmakers Cabin

Delightful cosy cabin set at the base of Pine trees in the rear garden of our bed and breakfast property. 4 mins drive (15 mins walk) from Dzorgen Beara Buddhist and Meditation Centre and a 5 minute walk / clamber to the cliffs. Castletownbere Fishing town with pubs and restaurants is 8 mins drive one way and Allihies village with beach and pub grub 14 mins the other way. Fantastic area for walking and cycling. The cabin is self catering and a selection of evening meals are available.

The Old Post Office (Urhan)

We have refurbished this fabulous old building in Urhan using local craftsmen. The building was originally a national school for many years from 1884. It then became a post office and shop for over 40 years. There are fabulous views of the sea at the front and views of the mountains at the rear of the property. It is very close to the Urhan Pub (less than 100 metres) so you can wander down for a pint of Guinness or a glass of wine and take in the breath-taking views of Coulagh bay.

We are situated on the Beara Peninsula, just up the road from Helen's Bar in Kilmackilogue. Our Shepherds Hut called The Bothy, overlooks the sea, and is three minutes walk to the beach. Enjoy nature at its best with views of Kenmare Bay and its surrounding mountains. It is a hikers paradise, lying just off 'The Beara Way' . Cyclists will also be in their element with The Healy Pass a few kilometres away. Kenmare is half an hour away with wonderful shops and restaurants.

We are a working beef farm and can look after your bikes/motorbikes on site in a safe environment. If you love the ocean, you will love this place. It is an ocean front property directly on the sea, looking at the Bere Island Lighthouse, very quite and private within walking distance to Castletownbere. It has a private automatic gate and the property has a slipway to the sea. Beautiful area to go canoeing. Seals can be seen from time to time. You can watch the Castletownbere fishing boat going out to sea.
