Located on the Michigan Tech XC Ski Trails, you can ski out the back door. Take a short ungroomed trail to the classic ski trails, or walk down the road to the Mill Road TrailHead to access premier skate skiing trails. We have a ski waxing station in the garage, including a table, vise, waxing iron, scrapers and brush) so you can wax your skis. Just bring your preferred wax. Lastly, three sets of Tubbs snowshoes come with the home. Enjoy winter right from your backyard in a home away from home.

PJ at Bally Creek-for Lovers!

PJ at Bally Creek Cabins is a cozy step back in time, with lantern lit, wood-heated cabins, and of course an outhouse. These are camping cabins featuring no electricity or running water. We provide water in insulated igloos. We have a wonderful wood-fired sauna for your enjoyment! Each cabin is spaced for privacy and has a picnic table and a tri-pod barbecue over a firepit. You can ski right out the door on groomed trails, and we also have a one kilometer trail you can ski with your dog.

Pincushion Mountain Haus is a light-filled Scandinavian modern retreat overlooking Grand Marais and Lake Superior. Immerse yourself in the surrounding nature as the house is directly on 25k of hiking, XC ski, and mountain bike trails…immediate access to nature out the front door but only 5 minutes to the charm of Grand Marais.
