Built in 1836 by John Hayden—a local jeweler, ship captain, statesman, and abolitionist—the Hayden House on Washington Street in Bath is a simple yet elegant example of the fine 19th-century architecture for which the town is known. Tucked behind the main house with its own private entrance, the Guest House features two bedrooms, a kitchenette, a cozy living area, and a full bathroom with a newly renovated walk-in shower.
