Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.

‘Para River Cottage’ Built in 1920 overlooking the gum studded cliff face of the North Para River, this quaint and cosy cottage has been elegantly restored for your fulfilment. Embrace the quiet rural feel of native birdsong and scattered sheep across the way, all whilst being within a short stroll of the heart of Tanunda. Nestled in the stunning Clare Valley wine region is a cosy stone cottage. Crafted in 1856 from slate into a carpenter’s barn, with extensive restoration and contemporary open plan. The Villa boasts vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and a charming wood fireplace.
