Incredible brunch spot specializing in Swedish menu offerings adapted for Portland’s unique style of cuisine. Must try the Lefse. They have 3 locations. I like every one BUT Mississippi Ave. Try Broder Soder or the Cafe. Skip Broder Nord, unless you happen to be on Mississippi Ave.

Breakfast breakfast breakfast!! But dinner too. Southern fare to the T, done well. The breakfasts are decadent (I.e. Praline Waffles with candied pecans and dollops of whipped cream and strawberries). You can get by with about $20/person including coffee and maybe 1 drink order. The chicken and waffles is enormous. 2 portland locations.

Portland fine dining, incredible plating, and great cocktails. The chocolate brownie was the best we’d ever had — supposedly an original recipe since they first opened. Rooftop dining available.

World class Thai food with a unique gourmet twist. The restaurant is elaborately styled out with exciting neon decor, just as you’d find in Thailand. If you enjoy Thai food and need a date night spot, this is a must— check out this location or the Downtown Pearl district location. This is a slightly more expensive place- maybe 3 $$$. 2 locations.

For the wino - great wine selection. The food is really just an accompaniment to the wine and not especially impressive, however it is very fresh. Again, I don’t recommend this place for dinner, just drinks and maybe a small plate to share. French focus. Lovely European bistro feel.

Traditional Italian market and restaurant. The freshest bread and homemade pastas from scratch. For the palate where quality ingredients matter, it’s not to be missed. Average prices, but easily rivaling if not surpassing the fanciest Italian restaurants in portland on flavor. A good selection of finer imported Italian foods, drinks and deserts available at their market.

Excellent hot wings found here, as well as a variety of other buffalo chicken or grilled chicken oriented offerings in a lively brewpub atmosphere. It also features it’s own in house beer and other Pacific Northwest microbrewery accompaniments. Everything I’ve tried here is great! 5 stars.

Mead and beer for the Viking overlord and black metal GOT fanboy alike, or if you just like to check out an unusual bar set in the Medieval period, go here. Don’t go for dinner though, the food is so-so at best, but the bar is interesting. The Meads are the real draw, because who’s ever been to a Meadery?! FYI, many of the meads are quite sweet. It’s downstairs and closes early.

Equally a bar and restaurant, this brewpub is set inside a very large church built in the 1910’s. They’ve retained the original feel of this century old building. It just opened and It’s still new looking inside with fresh paint and clean carpets, period furniture, plenty of interesting spaces to explore within given it’s a repurposed church and most rooms have been converted to dining. Good food and beer offerings!
