Το χωριό είναι από τα σημαντικότερα ορεινά χωριά της Θάσου, με μια δυναμική που έλκει τον επισκέπτη, τόσο εξ αιτίας της μακρόχρονης ιστορίας του, όσο και λόγω του φυσικού κάλους της περιοχής, όπου είναι κτισμένος.
