The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

It is completely off grid so no tv or sockets only usb charging points in the bedroom. The lodge is pet friendly (max 2 medium dogs) for free sits in its own grassed fenced area on our 12 acre smallholding . We are situated close to the Galloway forest which is the famous for its starry dark skies and also has great mountain biking and walking close by.

It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. Situated in a non commercial development south of Dumfries between Lochanhead and the magnificent Solway coast. Just off the A711, located 1 mile from the village of Beeswing and 5 miles from Dumfries town centre and 6 miles from Dalbeattie on the Solway coastal tourist driving route.
