Please note: Bathroom is open to the bedroom. I live in a little cottage next to the house so will be around 😎 Animals have the right of way here! SPEED LIMIT IS 30KM/H. Please be vigilant of little animals in the road! Bushbabies live in the house and have right of way ☝🏼 Even with all their little poopies!

Stone House - Joy River Backpackers

The Stone House is self-catering and contains, in the main bedroom, one double and one 3/4 bed with an en-suite bathroom, flush toilet, bath and shower. The lounge, with a fireplace, contains a single bed and couch. Bedding is provided and mosquito nets. Joy River Backpackers is situated at the very beginning of the Blyde River Canyon. A genuine African village experience, rustic & laid-back atmosphere prevails and the buildings blend serenely into that of the village. The water is potable.

100% privacy guaranteed on all outside areas. Cottage with kitchen (no oven), dining & lounge area, air-conditioned bedrooms , free Wifi, covered parking space. Main bedroom with king size or twin beds, bathroom with wash basins, indoor & outdoor shower. Upstairs bedroom with king size or twin beds + extra single bed, bathroom with wash basin & shower. This bedroom is not suited for unsupervised children. Deck with private plunge pool, covered outside dining area, kettle BBQ & sun loungers.

Farmstay bordering Kruger Park close to Orpen

A charming spacious farm cottage with 2 ensuite bedrooms. An open-plan kitchen and living area flows onto a deck with a gas braai (BBQ) overlooking a tributary of the Timbavati river. Wandering around the farm you may bump into giraffe, zebra and other wildlife. There are extensive vegetable gardens and a fruit orchard providing a wide variety of organic produce. There are also ducks, geese, laying hens, bantams and other poultry. Fully solar powered so no electricity outages or blackouts.

Our expansive home in a wildlife estate in Hoedspruit is the perfect space to unwind and explore. Enjoy the passing-by of leopards, hyena, giraffes, warthog, buck of all kinds, mongooses, giant lizards and beautiful birds - all of whom make their way through our garden on a daily basis. Explore the Kruger National Park from multiple gate entries - the closest of which is just a short 30-minute drive away. Relax in the pool with a cocktail to the sounds of the bush, and slow down in style.
