Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This cabin was built in the 1950's for housing dairy workers. It sits on 11 acres. This area is an old dairy farm. Lots of family history here going all the way back to WWII. 1 bedroom with queen size bed, small laundry room, queen size fold out couch, pots and pan, dishes, microwave, stove and refrigerator with ice maker. Super fast high speed internet. Roku tv's. Peaceful front porch with rocking chairs and very tranquil view.

Close to fine dining or fast food. The Rustic cottage is in the back of our property. It has a privacy fence, but is not completely fenced. Nice covered deck with large TV and carport

Please read detailed description of property before booking. Set in a 22 acre parcel on the Natalbany River 6.5 miles from downtown Hammond. Enjoy nature with a walk along the trail from house to river. This building has been built with mostly reclaimed, reused and upcycled materials. The rustic interior walls are clad in huge boards milled on the property after Katrina damage. Note the unusual shower with handmade tiles. There are other unique structures on property.

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. Close to highway, the university, and 40 minutes to either New Orleans or Baton Rouge airports. Studio apartment with convertible twin futon. 3-4 people sleep comfortably. Owner close and happy to leave you alone or help you with various things to make your stay fantastic! Take it easy at this unique getaway. Located on Bayou Manchac on a gated 6 acre estate. The Blue Heron Guest House is a great place to just get away, enjoy nature, canoe (provided), fish the pond or the bayou, birdwatching (lots of birds), etc. The property does have a boat slip and a small boat launch for those who want to explore the area by boat. Bayou Manchac connects to the Amite River nearby. We can’t wait to share our paradise with you!

With prior notification to host you may have full access to onsite boat slip. Depending on size of boats slip can host up to 2 boats at one time.
