NB: The barns opposite have recently been purchased and will be restored in due course, so daytime building works are possible. Our Bothy is a beautifully restored one-bedroom cosy and welcoming retreat in a peaceful setting, surrounded by an acre of meadow and hills. Just over a mile from the ducal village of Thornhill’s shops, cafés and pubs. Full of original character, it is an immaculate, fully equipped and comfortable base for relaxing, walking and exploring scenic Dumfries and Galloway.

Nestled in the Lowther Hills of Southern Scotland, Firefly Cottage annexe offers a secluded break in a rural haven. This cottage annexe has a private entrance, secure fencing for dogs, and a secluded patio. All dogs are welcome. Leadhills is ideal for walkers, cyclists, bikers, goldpanners, writers, artists and travellers. Countless acres of moorland, yet 10 mins from the M74. Rest, explore, be inspired to write or paint, play golf, even pan for gold! Or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.

Cosy cottage in village

The Annexe is attached to our home and dates back to 1883. It has had various uses over the years; a sweet shop in the 1950s, a meat store for the local butcher, and a place where the milkboys used to shelter from the weather. After being in a state of disrepair for the last few decades, it is now a comfortable place for those who wish to stay in a quiet village location with good amenities, great walks on the door step, and access to central Glasgow and Edinburgh in under an hour.

16 Church Street

16 Church Street is a renovated 1 bedroom cottage with open plan living/kitchen area. Literally a moment's walk from the scenic town centre of Moffat with local shops, pubs, restaurants & other amenities. The cottage is next to a river walk & the town, is surrounded by stunning scenery; perfect for avid hillwalkers. Only 5 minutes off the motorway (1.5 hr from Edinburgh,1 hr from Glasgow & 45mins from Carlisle) it's a perfect en route stopover but even better for a week! Welcome!

Fairy Cottage

Fairy Cottage is a self contained, fully equipped detached cottage, set in private grounds with private parking. Private patio area with garden furniture. Quiet and peaceful on a summer's evening. High Chair and travel cot available on request. Additional day guests only permitted with prior permission and an extra charge may be incurred. Our cottage has a capacity of a maximum of four people sharing two beds. There is a king size bed in the main bedroom and a sofa bed.
