Our cottage is located within the gates of Samsons Whitetail Mountain. Nestled near the Shawnee National Forest, allows for the best hiking, biking, and rock climbing locations. Plan a trip to Garden of the Gods or Jackson Falls or Tunnel Hill Trail and spend the evening roasting hotdogs around the fire ring while watching the many animals on the property. DOOR ACCESS CODE WILL BE SENT OUT PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL. PLEASE READ ENTIRE LISTING AND ALL RULES AND POLICIES THOROUGHLY BEFORE BOOKING.

Lil House On The Prairie (LHOTP) is aptly named because it’s located on the edge of Nachusa Grassland’s 1,000 acre south Bison pasture. The 100+ herd of free ranging Bison can often be viewed right along the boundary fence to the west! This recently remodeled two bedroom cottage can sleep six with two queen size beds and with a pull out sofa bed. LHOTP offers a quiet, convenient, and comfortable place to base your adventures from. Behaved dogs & responsible owners welcome!

We are in walking distance to downtown Belleville, and free parking is available. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There is a barbeque grill, covered back patio, gazebo and lovely gardens.
