Griffin - The Lake Superior Riverboat

The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Cozy Trailside Nordic Forest Cottage

Welcome to the Trailside Gökotta Forest Cottage: a modern, minimalist and serene nature cabin on the Birkie Trail system. Gökotta means 'to get up early to listen to sounds of birds and the forest'. Located right on Birkie Ridge Trailhead with close access to vast CAMBA trails, this is a nature escape for outdoor enthusiasts who love to bike, ski, hike, and bird watch. Enjoy ski-in ski-out to groomed trails, bike-in bike-out right onto trails, then cozy up by the woodstove or fire-pit at night.

The Timberjack

Although it's a rustic homage to the lumberjacks and jills of yesteryear, this cabin includes many of the comforts we now enjoy including a queen bed, kitchenette with fridge, hot water, AC/heat, a Keurig coffeemaker, smart TV and charcoal grill. The Timberjack is surrounded by trees right on Lake Hayward and close to downtown Hayward. Launch your canoe just steps from the cabin, walk into town for lunch, or go hiking or skiing on the nearby trails, this cabin is nestled in the ideal location!

Northwoods Nest

Nestled in a grove of white pines, protecting the house from the road, this sweet spot will meet guests seeking quiet and relaxation. Curl up in your cozy bedroom. Lounge on the back deck. Take a long nap in the hammock. Relax by the wood stove. You might not want to leave! But if you do choose to explore the area, Northwoods Nest is in a great location located five miles from Washburn, one mile from a (class 1 fishery) river, three miles from the beach and nine miles to Bayfield. Seeley Oaks A-Frame | Secluded Retreat on 40 Acres

This is a cabin-in-the-woods experience! The Seeley Oaks A-Frame is our slice of the peaceful Northwoods experience. It's on 40 private, tranquil acres (no neighbors!) with great access to all the Hayward-Cable area has to offer. It's small - intended for two adults, with the option of 2 addtl kids. It's a total of 700 sq ft, with a queen bed in the loft, in-floor heat, full kitchen, and washer and dryer. Less than 2 mi from Highway 63, 8 mi from Cable, and 10 mi from Hayward. IG: @Seeleyoaks

Sylvan Chalet, Modern, Lakefront, Close to Trails

Built as a winter or summer escape for a couple or small group, this beautiful four season cabin is a great way to experience the Northwoods of Wisconsin in a modern, well-appointed, aesthetically rich space designed with relaxation in mind. Cabin is brand new as of January 2024. Host is 14 year "superhost" This is a default "no pets" cabin, however certain sizes and breeds are allowed by permission only. Norrsken Scandinavian Cottage

The guest cottage is painted to resemble a Scandinavian retreat. Complete with separate bedroom, extra fold-out sofa queen bed, kitchenette, wood burning stove, WiFi (the best we can find but not great!!!) and large television (DirecTV), it is a great getaway for a couple or a family. Owners live on property if you need anything. If you are a bit adventurous, we can put up a tent right next to Lake Superior. The entire property is smoke free. For a quiet stay, no snowmobiles or ATVs.

The Birkebeiner cross country ski trail and scores of other mountain biking, hiking, and snowmobiling trails are close by plus other public recreation opportunities (hunting, snowshoeing, bird watching, etc) abound in the nearby National Forest lands. Several other lakes, including Lake Namekagon and Lake Owen, are nearby for your boating and fishing pleasure.

Visit Bayfield 20 min away or take in the quirky, small-town of Cornucopia and then come home and take a sauna in this peaceful forest! The cabin has an occupancy limit of 2 adults and one dog ($50 pet fee). A SUP board is stored near the beach for guests in summer.
