Tugela River Lodge: Rapids Cottage with Hot Tub

Tugela River Lodge is a pet friendly, self-catering Eco-Lodge, located on a private cattle and game farm on the banks of the Tugela River, near Winterton, KZN, South Africa. We run off solar and gas and invite guest to come and enjoy the quiet side of nature. Our lodge has access to many miles of trails for hiking, biking and running through our private game farm where one can get up close and personal with our resident giraffe. The sounds of the river are sure to put you to sleep at night!

Waterfall River Lodge

This is a unique, comfortable, fully kitted, self-catering house sleeping 8/10 people. Hidden in a quiet corner of our working farm it overlooks a pristine section of the Wilge River, with the famous waterfall and Nelson's Kop mountain providing spectacular scenery. Please note that the property is remote and the last 200m of the access road will require a high clearance vehicle.

We are off the grid and make use of solar panels and gas geysers. It can comfortably accommodate 4 guests. It has an open-plan lounge and dining area with a small but fully equipped kitchen. It is of historical interest as it is situated on the first pass over the Drakensburg mountains used by the ox wagons taking supplies to the mines from the coast.
