Hawkhow Cottage, Glenridding

Hawkhow Cottage compromises four bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably or eight cosily. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one King, one double and one twin) and a bathroom. Downstairs there is an additional bedroom (small double), a shower room and a traditional Aga-warmed kitchen. The glass and oak-framed extension provides a large living room with log burning stove and a galleried dining area. The property will be prepared ready for your arrival with freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels supplied for your stay. We have provided a selection of games, puzzles and toys to keep you entertained inside (and the optional use of a TV and Xbox One) as well as books, maps and guides to help you plan your activities outside. There is ample parking on-site. Guests also have shared use of the main house’s extensive gardens and grounds, including the sauna. Please note that the garden is steep with drop-offs in places, it has a number of steps and paths that can be extremely slippery, as well as running water courses, ponds and bridges. As well as having Ullswater on your doorstep for sailing, kayaking and wild swimming, there are a number of fabulous walks and bicycle rides that can be started from the cottage without ever needing to get into your car. Keen walkers can even start the climb to Helvellyn by walking up the garden to join recognised footpaths. Glenridding is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the Lake and provides a number of cafes, pubs and shops as well as access to the famous Ullswater Steamers. A slightly longer walk along the Lake in the opposite direction will take you past Glencoyne Bay, the inspiration for William Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ poem, to the popular Aira Force waterfall and trails maintained by the National Trust.

The Pines Treehouse is nestled underneath a huge oak tree sitting high above the running water of Sand Beck. Nature cocoons you and you can reach out and touch the trees, see wildlife all around you amongst the pines. With breathtaking views through the tress and across the valley you are completely private having no other accommodation on the site making this a truly unique and special experience. WINDY HALL - Secluded luxury with stunning views

Windy Hall is very special. High in the Cumbrian Pennines, it offers one of the finest views in England. Many guests just stay and enjoy the setting & seclusion, but we are also ideally placed for day trips to the Lake District, the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, Hadrian's Wall, and the castles & coasts of Northumberland. Limited access at the house means that apart from unloading, parking is a steep 240m from the house. But don't let this put you off; please just read our reviews!

The property provides the perfect setting for families and friends gathering for special occasions or holidays in beautiful North Yorkshire. The Lake District, the Borders and the North East are just a drive away. The new build apartment sleeps 4 in 2 upstairs bedrooms (microwave, washer dryer, dishwasher, tv, DVD, wifi, parking, bike store). There’s a stunning view from every window including the shower room, there is no bath. We’re very rural the WiFi can be somewhat unreliable.

The rooms we offer have been designed with the explorer in mind, to use a base to explore the local surrounding area, the Lake District, Northumberland and Durham. We have had guests walking the Isaacs Tea Trail as well as cyclists doing the C2C. After a long day exploring the local area return to refresh yourself in our spacious bathroom complete with underfloor heating.

Part of a converted 17th century listed building, the apartment is quiet and peaceful yet has immediate access to all the amenities of the town centre and road links. The apartment sleeps 2 adults and can accommodate an infant. The apartment is double glazed and benefits from gas central heating. Unlimited fibre wifi is provided together with Freesat TV. Access is pedestrian only but there is free parking just a few yards away.
