Hiking on the prairie is a wonder-filled adventure. The adobe-covered strawbale cottage is quiet, cozy, with a large window seat to read a book, or take a nap. Full kitchen. Bath includes shower and composting toilet.

Pecan Cabin

The Pecan Cabin is in the middle of a pecan orchard. It is built out of pecan wood. There is much wildlife around the cabin. We often see deer, wild turkeys, armadillo, squirrels, hawks, racoon, and coyote. It is very quiet and peaceful. A great place for star gazing. This is a working pecan orchard. You may see us, mowing, pruning and generally taking care of the trees. There is no hunting on this property. The land is leased for hunting, but they do not hunt in the pecan grove.

(Note, there is a staircase to the basement with no door, not suitable for small children or bring a baby gate.)

Compact and stylish, our kitchen offers a few cooking options for those who prefer to stay in and fix a meal. Or set out behind the cottage and watch the sun go down over Cow Creek for a relaxing evening. We are located right on 86 hwy while convenient there is some traffic, and an occasional train can be heard at the property.
