The Red Train Carriage

The Red Train Carriage is a special place to stay next to the train tracks of The Swanage Railway. We believe it was built in about 1858 for GER as a 2nd class passenger carriage. It was just a shell when we got it, with it's original walls, doors, ceiling and floor, but the seating had been removed. There was only a few clues about its history in some of the doors and windows. We have saved as much of the original carriage as possible whilst making it a comfortable place to stay for a week.

Le logement est fourni avec serviettes et linge de lit fait. Il y aura aussi : thé, café, savons (…) pensez à remplacer ;)

Millpool is airy and light. A characterful carriage perfect for singles or couples. Stunning views in a great village location. Millpool is designed for accessibility, but you don't have to be in a wheelchair to enjoy Millpool, it is perfect for everyone. Although we don't offer breakfast, our usual welcome pack includes a starter pack of milk, tea, coffee, local apple juice and biscuits. Our converted off grid railway carriage is set in tranquil orchard surrounded by Oaks and old pear, medler, apple, plum and quince trees on a wildlife farm. Your neighbours are our free range chickens who lay the most delicious eggs and the crickets, grass hoppers and butterflies. Please note there is no electricity in the Railway Carriage but you have full use of Jakes Barn with the Fridge freezer and gas burners , butler sink, and wood burner .
