Whether you’re looking for a solo escape, a retreat for two, or a fun family getaway for four, Ladybug Cottage is a modern and comfortable two-bedroom home - just 45 minutes from Hobart - located in the heart of Dunalley. Close to shops, cafes, restaurants, distilleries, fish and chips, beaches, fishing spots and Bangor Vineyard, Ladybug Cottage is an ideal base for exploring Tassie’s stunning South East.

We want to offer visitors to Hobart a unique & luxurious accommodation experience, which connects modern design with its rugged, bush environment. Located in West Hobart, we are a short 8 minute drive to the Salamanca water front. Our 2 story house is nestled in a private bushy street, with amazing views of the Derwent River, South Hobart, Sandy Bay & beyond. The home is spacious and private, yet surrounded by (harmless) local wildlife. You will see many wallabies grazing on the property.

Using the shack as your base, no matter which direction you choose to venture, there’s an array of experiences and activities to explore, 20 min to Hobart Airport, 40 min to Hobart, gateway to Richmond, East Coast, Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula.

Carlton River Escape

Carlton River Escape was completed in 2023 and built as a peaceful hide away retreat on the back 50 acres of our property. It is nestled right beside our Swift Parrot Conservation Forest area which also shares it space with our local wallabies, wombats, echidnas, pademelons, possums, and eagles. Amid the fresh Tassie air, and the incredible forest views, you will feel completely relaxed listening to the sounds of the wildlife while enjoying the luxury of a secluded brand new home.

MarshMellow - cabin, creek, beach, outdoor tub

Experience the magic of a tiny cabin set amongst a grove of gum trees beside a creek around the bend from an isolated beach in a little-known corner of Tasmania. Everything is tiny, but guests tell us it has everything you need... including luxurious touches like European linen.
