Tranquil Secluded Studio Steps from Woodland Park

This very unique space is quiet, private and tucked away off the backyard, beneath the branches of a lilac tree. We are located at the nexus of four of the north end's most amenity-rich neighborhoods, Wallingford, Fremont, Phinney Ridge, and Green Lake. Off-street parking is not available, but street parking is free and unregulated. During the day, spots are generally plentiful. It gets a little tight at night, but you should be able to find a spot within a block or around the corner. Enter from a private deck, two steps down into a former workshop, turned into a cozy, comfortable space about the size of an average hotel room. The walls and ceilings are paneled with birch plywood. The steel fasteners are exposed. The floor is painted concrete. A remote-controlled ceiling fan keeps the room comfortable in summer or winter. Heat comes from an efficient, electric, convection heater mounted on a wall at waist-level. Two pendant shop lights, and a light on the ceiling fan, provide the main lighting. There is a floor lamp by the table, and two reading lamps fastened to the bed. All shelving is open, and also made from birch plywood, keeping with the room's industrial theme. The kitchenette comes with a compact refrigerator/freezer, two-burner induction cooktop, compact dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, coffee grinder, French press coffee maker, colander, mixing bowl, dishes, glasses, utensils (including corkscrew, can opener), skillet, sauce pan, and cutting board. A flat-screen TV is mounted on the wall, and comes with cable service. If you have a Netflix account, you can stream videos as well. There is a clock radio/iPod dock on the nightstand. Both wired, and wireless internet are provided. Room has a multi-purpose table with two drop-leaves, suitable for eating or working. The unit also comes with a stacked washer and dryer, full-size ironing board and iron. Guests can check in 24/7 on their own, as the unit is equipped with a keyless deadbolt that unlocks using a numerical code. The bathroom has a tiled shower with a thermostatic valve, allowing you to preset the temperature. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairdryer are provided. The queen-size bed has a memory foam mattress, and comes with a down comforter. An armless easy chair sits at the foot of the bed. For families with infants, there is a portable crib available on request. The place works for couples and couples with an infant. I don't recommend this space for parties larger than that. Guests have exclusive use of the deck, and shared use of the backyard. I live here in the main house and work from home at least half of the time, so I'm often just a few steps away. Interaction is typically very minimal - you'll have your peace and privacy - but I'm generally available to help with requests. The Woodland Park Zoo and Rose Garden are only a one-minute walk away. The unit is close to three major bus lines (the E-line express, No. 5, and No. 44). Downtown Seattle is a 10-15 minute ride, as is Ballard and the University of Washington. There is ample parking on the street for those with cars; you can find parking on our block almost all the time. I also host AirBnb guests in the house, so you might see other travelers coming and going. Street parking only for guests - both driveways have to remain clear. Parking is easy to find during the day, harder as it gets later, but you shouldn't ever have to park more than a block or two away.

Detached Private Upscale Guest Cottage

This is a detached, completely private studio cottage. From the studs out remodel completed in 2014. It has a full travertine bathroom, washer dryer, full size kitchen appliances, miles of granite counter, work space, eating area, built in storage in closet, vaulted ceilings, queen bed. Free internet of course and Direct TV. Top of Queen Anne hill. Within half a block there is casual dining, Macrina Bakery, Bustle, Taco Shop, Targy’s Bar. Dry cleaning and Ken’s Market full grocery store also a half a block away. Full sized appliances, dishes, cookware, coffee pot, blender, and spices. Private outdoor courtyard with BBQ, eating and lounging areas. Private entrance to yard from off street alley parking for 1 car. Additional parking on street. We will be there if you need us but will set it up for you to come and go on your own. Since you're in our backyard, we're around in case you need any assistance. We will be happy to provide anything you need as far as special requests prior to your arrival and if you want special places to go we do have vast knowledge of everything fun to do!!! 6 blocks walk to Queen Anne Ave for all the shops, fine dining and nightlife. ½ mile walk to Kerry Park for the best view of Seattle in town. 1 ½ miles to lower Queen Anne and Seattle Center. Less than 3 miles to downtown and Pike Place Market. We are minutes from some of Seattle's best dining. My personal favorite restaurants within a five minute walk are: How to Cook a Wolf and Lloyd Martin. Groceries: Ken’s Market is on the corner but Safeway and Trader Joes are within a few blocks. Transportation: The #2 bus stop to Seattle Center and downtown core is on the corner, other bus lines are within a 3 block walk. There is a ZipCar at the 7-11 on Queen Anne Ave. There are usually Car2Go cars nearby. This is not only one of Seattle's more desirable and sought after neighborhoods we are also one of the safest neighborhoods. Walk six blocks to Queen Anne Ave for plentiful shops, fine dining, and nightlife. A little closer, Kerry Park has the best view of Seattle. Also not far away are lower Queen Anne and Seattle Center, as well as downtown and Pike Place Market.

This two story, one bedroom unit is complete with a comfortable king size bed and full size pull-out bed in the open living space. Bathroom with a soaking tub and shower. Fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher and coffee maker included). Cottage is connected to WiFi and features a smart TV with Netflix and Xfinity X1 cable. Unit is heated with electric hydronic concrete floors. Our home is located on the property and shares an outside space along with our St. Bernard, Churchill. We are always available to help our guests with anything they may need. If privacy is what you are looking for we know how to make ourselves scarce. This quiet residential area of northwest Seattle is 15 minutes' walk from the lively streets of downtown Ballard. Test the Seattle lifestyle with a bike ride to Sunset Hill Park and check out amazing views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. Only 1 block from local Metro transit, the #40 which takes you to Fremont, South Lake Union, Downtown southbound and Greenwood and Northgate northbound. 10 blocks to the express Metro bus headed downtown, the D line.
